Västra Götaland Region has ordered a DrugLog® system for placement at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. The system will be used at the Children’s Intensive Care Unit for quality control of drug preparations.
Sahlgrenska University Hospital’s unit for Clinical Pharmacy is conducting a project with the aim of reducing the risk of mistakes in drug preparations. Part of that project is to use DrugLog® for quality control at the Children’s Intensive Care Department at Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital.
Mats Högberg, CEO of Pharmacolog: “Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital is in the forefront when it comes to improved drug management in pediatric care. A modern and safe preparation of sensitive drugs should include an easy-to-use and reliable quality control system. Our DrugLog system is a unique tool to ensure that the patient receives the right medication in the right concentration, and we look forward to collaborating with Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital for safe and effective pediatric care.”
Pharmacolog provides solutions and products that enhance work efficiency and safety when preparing injectable medication. Our goal is to help prevent medication errors and ensure maximum medication efficacy when treating patients with powerful yet potentially harmful injectable drugs. Pharmacolog’s products, DrugLog®, WasteLog® and PrepLog®, help staff at pharmacies and hospital wards minimize the risk of errors in the compounding process. Furthermore, by verifying that drugs and narcotics used in surgery have not been tampered with, our solutions also make a vital contribution to preventing drug diversion.
