Princess Máxima Center in Utrecht, The Netherlands, have ordered a DrugLog® system to be used for quality assurance of two compounding robots that are used for reconstitution of pharmaceuticals. The order will be booked in the first quarter.
The recently opened Princess Máxima Center (PMC) is a unique hospital, being the biggest pediatric oncology center in Europe. The new center brings together all the highly complex care and research for children with cancer in the Netherlands. Around 600 children in the Netherlands get cancer every year. The Hospitla Pharmacy will take care of most of the drug preparations to the ward departments at the center and for that purpose they have bought two IV robots that will prepare drugs in an automated manner. To perform daily quality control tests contributing to the quality assurance of the robots the pharmacy department also decided to buy a DrugLog® device.
